SMITH-WATKINS AT THE ROYAL WEDDING

Smith-Watkins were delighted to have their excellence recognised by the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, in a service watched by billions across the world. On 29 April 2011, the world watched as Miss Kate Middleton and Prince William of Wales tied the knot, the occasion being marked by the glorious sounds of 28 of Smith-Watkins finest ceremonial Fanfare trumpets. The Central Band of the Royal Air Force, which draws on the finest players from across the bands of the Royal Air Force, played a 30 second fanfare immediately after the signing of the register, to official confirm the marriage. The fanfare, especially commissioned for the occasion from Wing Commander Duncan Stubbs, Royal Air Force Music Services Principal Director of Music, was entitled Valiant and Brave, motto of 22 Squadron, in which Prince William is currently serving as a Search and Rescue Pilot.
